WESTCHESTER TRAIL RIDES

This is not the typical ride you've experienced - it's hard for me to show you my expression through words, but in an abbreviated space, I can say with a smile that it was the most enjoyable 2 hours I've ever had on a ride. Not only was the scenery magnificent, but the horses were the most well trained and responsive I've ever seen. If riding is your passion and you're interested in a relaxing and memorable day, I recommend riding with Bob and taking in an unforgettable experience. We're already looking forward to our next ride!

We brought our 9 year old daughter to Westchester Trail Rides in Croton for her first ride on a "real" horse. What a great experience! The owner, Bob, was very helpful and accommodating. He set our expectations over the phone, evaluated and helped us set realistic goals, and ensured that our daughter's first ride was great, and left her wanting to come back for more. We all rode in the pen for this session, but are looking forward to getting out on the trails next time, once our daughter has full confidence in her ability to control her horse. The horses are very well trained and responsive to the gentlest of touches, the place is spotless and very well maintained, and you can just tell that the owner loves his horses. Be aware, this is a very small family run operation. Don't think they would be able to handle large groups. It was perfect for our family's needs , and we already booked several more weekend sessions... 5 stars!

This place is majestic. You feel as if you've been transported to a far away place away from the city lights and noise - but you're only in Westchester. Best trail ride ever! The horses are gentle giants and are well kept and trained. Don't get me started on Cowboy Bob! Down to earth and simply wonderful! Can't wait to go back with the entire family... again.

Wow, what a find! Driving my 11-year-old daughter up from lower Westchester, we felt like we had escaped to the heartland, even before we arrived. The property is beautiful. Bob greeted outside the barn, where we were admiring his chicken coop. He made us feel at home right away, showed us around, offered drinks, and got us set up on two beautiful and well-trained horses. Bob is very patient, helpful, and safety-conscious. Within a few minutes we were getting accustomed to the horses in the corral, and learning the basics of western riding. (My daughter had learned English, so this was new.) On our next visit, we ventured into the adjoining forest trails, which are rugged, untouched, and beautiful. As a bonus, we came home with the freshest and best-tasting farm eggs we've ever had. We're ruined now; grocery store eggs just don't make it anymore. This has been a great experience for me and my daughter, and we'll come back as often as we can.

My father and I have been here twice now. We have always loved riding and here we got the most amazing riding experience. Bob took us for miles in the woods on horseback where we saw amazing views of Westchester. The experience that Bob gave my father and I is so surreal. The first we came, Bob also offered us some farm fresh eggs to take home. And the second time he gave us horseshoes from the last time we rode. Each time we went was more amazing than the last. My father and I STRONGLY recommend coming here to ride. If you do not come, you will seriously regret it. Do NOT miss out! We will never forget the memories we have made coming here and we look forward to planning our next riding adventure with Bob and his beautiful horses.

Ryan and I went riding with Bob this past weekend and had the most amazing time! Ryan has ridden a handful of times and before we knew it the 3 of us were galloping uphill towards one of the most amazing views in Westchester! It felt as though we were in Montana somewhere. Bob is SO great, he's fun and knowledgeable and takes the time to educate and guide you on the ride. The trails are so beautiful and quiet -- you are riding through the woods, crossing streams and climbing hills. This was unlike any other trail ride I've ever done and by far the best. We can't wait to return. Thanks again for everything Bob!

Cowboy Bob is the kindest man and The best teacher for new riders. His horses are so beautiful and are so well trained because they are so loved. The best horse riding experience I ever had. I can't wait for my next ride! Enjoy.

We visited on a sunny Saturday in October. It was one of the best afternoons of our year! Bob is a fantastic horseman, and incredibly knowledgeable about the local area. We are both experienced riders and Bob picked up on this immediately and tailored the ride to our abilities perfectly. We spent time running through leafy roads and galloping up trails to one of the most stunning vistas in the Hudson Valley. The horses (Buddy and Gabriel) were very well trained and responsive - Bob clearly takes great care of them. We can't recommend Bob and his horses highly enough to any riders (beginner to advanced) and can't wait to go back!
